Yes, I was slack last night and only engaged a little bit, not sufficient to blog about really.
I found the site had posted some homework, but we needed a password to access these pages. I got quite frustrated, and could not find the details anywhere. I ended up emailing the Course Teacher, who replied with the password, thanking me for reminding her about it.
I subsequently found the password on a page I had not read before. Hence, tonight tons of stuff to do, have added some strategic thinking to my Community Planning Document. It is still a bit airy fairy, needs a bit more focus.
Just as I was about to log out for the evening, the next day's homework arrived. I felt a bit like Harry Potter receiving all his letters :-)
Had a quick look at this and thought, not for tonight, too heavy. Will put my thinking cap on tomorrow and tackle this one.
BTW, no one has commented on my document yet ... ratbags!

Day Two
I got a couple of friend invites today and felt really chuffed about that. In fact I could not wait until I got home to accept these invites.
There are 29 members in this group, and a couple of them are known to me, I work with them. This is comforting.
Only 10 people have set up their draft planning document, and I have commented on many of them. No one has commented on mine so far.
I tried to edit the document tonight and was told I did not have permission to do this. Hmm, might need to check my settings.
Listened to an interesting webinar "In conversation with Jane Bozarth" and I found her quite riveting. Although very amusing that the technology did play up and refused to show the PowerPoint slides, played havoc with the audio. There is a huge emphasis on Twitter here. Must look at that again, of course I have an account but I have not done anything with it yet.
So I feel that tonight I have done a little, but not much. Perhaps tomorrow night will be more challenging.

My Blog Journey - The next two weeks - Day One
I read a forum contribution about 10 days ago that introduced me to the concept of joining an online group to learn how to sustain an online community. Great, I thought I can do that!
The first hurdle of course was to actually register. I couldn't even create an account, and felt a bit deerh. Anyway, I posted that issue to the forum where I first heard about the group, and back came the answer. Silly me, I was using a full stop in my proposed account name, and the instructions clearly stated only to use alpha numeric.
Second hurdle was that it was actually going to cost me money, out of my own pocket. I am so used to everything in the online community being for free, I had to think twice. No matter, I coughed up the fee (less than $40 AUD) and then thought, yeah, I will do this on 12th March when the program begins.
So here I am before 9.00am on a SUNDAY, 11th March having completed my first assignment and feeling pretty chuffed. At first I was in awe of the others in the group (so far only 6 other people have posted assignments, but 23 have signed up). Then of course as these things do, I started to think about the content, and how to relate it back to my work and my own area of expertise. While others in the group seem far more "out there", I am sure I will be able to keep up and contribute to the outcomes.
BTW, the course goes for two weeks, and they expect you to put in one hour per day in an asynchronous manner. Here goes, day one done ahead of time.
